Hands down the best tapas I have had outside of Spain. The croquetas are absolutely perfect and the sangria kept flowing all evening. Dale Candela has become our go-to spot on Lamma without question.
Madrid Tapas Bar, Lamma Island
Come hungry, leave feeling like family every time
Dale Candela brings the bold flavours and convivial spirit of a Madrid neighbourhood bar to the heart of Lamma Island.
Our story
A little corner of Madrid
Dale Candela was born from a simple idea: the best evenings are spent around a table full of good food, better drinks, and people who feel like old friends by the end of the night. Tucked away on the charming main street of Yung Shue Wan, the bar brings the unpretentious warmth of a Madrid taberna to Lamma Island, one pintxo and one gin tonic at a time.
We serve classic Spanish tapas made with genuine care and flavourful ingredients, from patatas bravas with proper aioli to jamón croquetas that could make you weep. The cocktail list leans into Spanish tradition, with sangrias, vermuts, and gin tonics served in proper balloon glasses. Whether you pull up a red chair on the terrace or settle in under the string lights indoors, you are always welcome here.
This is not a themed restaurant trying to feel Spanish. This is the real thing, brought to Hong Kong by people who love the culture, the food, and above all, the joy of sharing a table. Come as a stranger, leave as a regular.

Authentic Spanish Tapas
From croquetas and patatas bravas to grilled chorizo and pan con tomate, the tapas menu celebrates the bold, unfussy flavours of Madrid. Every dish is made to be shared and savoured.
Spanish Cocktails and Drinks
The drinks list is rooted in Spanish tradition: think proper sangria, refreshing vermut, and gin tonics served the Madrid way in large balloon glasses with premium garnishes.

Regulars who feel like family
We stumbled across Dale Candela on a Sunday afternoon and ended up staying for three hours. The atmosphere is wonderfully laid-back, the staff treat you like an old friend, and the gin tonics are outstanding.
